Opening Day is less than a week away, and Turner still remains a player who can be signed by any team in the MLB.

Despite his age, it was reported that he would want to play during the 2026 season.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network wrote (on November 10): “Free agent Justin Turner plans to play in 2026, according to his agent, Greg Genske.

Turner, who turns 41 month, posted a .759 OPS against left-handed pitching for the Cubs this year.”

The Cubs finished last season as the second-place team in the National League Central with a 92-70 record.

They lost to the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2025 NLDS.

This is his first time back here since October of 2022 in the NLDS.
