Four women were hospitalized after a stabbing at a Downtown Los Angeles restaurant Sunday evening, March 22.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded around 5:15 p.m. to Zaya Restaurant, 515 W. 7th St., near Olive Street, where they found six patients in two separate locations, said LAFD spokesperson Lyndsey Lantz.

Four women ages 26, 27, 28 and 37 were taken to a hospital in fair condition, Lantz said.

Police told ABC7 that an argument toward the end of a party at the restaurant escalated, ending in three people being stabbed. Two of the victims were stabbed with a knife and one with a bottle, according to ABC7.

Two suspects were taken into custody, the Los Angeles Police Department said on X. The altercation was under investigation.

“While some situations develop unexpectedly and are beyond our control,” Zaya Restaurant wrote on Instagram, “the safety of our guests and staff remains our highest priority. We are especially grateful for the swift response of our team, as well as the immediate support of local law enforcement and emergency personnel.”
