Natomas Unified School District and Natomas Teacher’s Association agreed in the early hours of Thursday, March 19th on a tentative contract and agreement to end the strike.
Teachers have been on strike since Tuesday, March 10th. Details of the contract have not been released; however, teachers within the union will still have to vote on the agreement before it goes into effect.
Certificated staff returned to school sites beginning late on Friday.
The agreement includes a 5.25% salary increase over the next two years and a “pathway to fully funded family healthcare.”
Classroom support, campus safety and prep time were also agreement settled.
“We are pleased to share that the District has reached a tentative agreement with the Natomas Teachers Association,” district officials said. “We appreciate the work and efforts of all involved to reach an agreement…”
The OBSERVER also reached out to the union for comment but has not heard back as of publication. This is a developing story.
