SGV SOFTBALL TOP 10

1. LA MIRADA (12-2)
The Matadores have pounded out 20 home runs this season. Junior Riley Hilliard is batting .651 with six home runs, 10 doubles and 22 RBIs. They’re good enough to win a CIF-SS Division 1 title. They can hit and pitch with anyone.

2. CALIFORNIA (8-2)
The Condors won a key matchup against La Serna, winning 4-3, and followed up with a 5-4 victory over Santa Fe to improve to 3-0 in the Del Rio League. Senior pitcher Alexis Lalals has been great, and they will go as far as she can take them.

3. LA HABRA (11-3)
The Highlanders had a six-game win streak snapped by a loss to El Modena, 9-6. They have a big game against Pacifica on Tuesday. They’ll try to avenge a 4-3 loss to Pacifica two weeks ago.

4. LOS ALTOS (6-5)
The Conquerors notched the most impressive win of the season with an 8-5 victory over JSerra, ranked No. 1 in the CIF-SS by MaxPreps. They followed with a 7-1 win over Edison. Nobody, not even La Mirada, has played a tougher schedule. And they’re doing it with a freshman-heavy roster.

5. BONITA (13-3)
Juniors Sara Yeats (six home runs) and Koa Puppe (four home runs) lead the second best offense in the SGV behind La Mirada. They Bearcats are getting great pitching too. Will be interesting to the playoff division they land in.

6. GLENDORA (11-0-2)
The Tartans opened the Palomares League with a 13-5 win over Claremont and followed with an impressive 10-2 nonleague win over Arcadia. They haven’t played as tough a schedule as the teams ranked ahead of them, but undefeated is undefeated.

7. LA SERNA (5-4)
The Lancers lost their first big battle with California, 4-3. They rebounded with a 16-4 win over Whittier. They have a nonleague test against Los Altos on March 31.

8. GANESHA (5-1)
The Giants should plow through the Miramonte League. There are only two nonleague games left on their schedule to watch, when they play Del Oro on April 1 and Temescal Canyon on April 16.

9. WHITTIER CHRISTIAN (9-6-1)
The Heralds opened the Olympic League with a 4-1 victory over Maranatha. They have to get more consistent in the circle, and have several league games coming up where they have a chance to stack wins.

10. ARCADIA (11-2-1)
The Apaches fell big to Glendora, 10-2, in a nonleague test for both teams. In the Pacific League, however, the Apaches are 2-0 and one of the league favorites.
