More full overnight closures are planned on the Vincent Thomas Bridge beginning Monday night, Oct. 20.
The bridge will be fully closed in both directions between Ferry Street and Harbor Boulevard beginning at 10:15 p.m. on Oct 21, Oct. 22, Oct. 27 and Oct. 28. The bridge will reopen at 6:45 the following morning each day.
The northbound State Route 47 on-ramp at Harbor Boulevard and the southbound SR-47 on-ramp at Ferry Street will also be closed during those times.
The closures are needed for structural inspections by the California Department of Transportation.
Traffic will be diverted from the northbound 110 Freeway to eastbound Pacific Coast Highway and southbound SR-47 to westbound PCH.
Due to weather or operational reasons, the schedule is subject to change, Caltrans officials said. That could impact the times and dates, the number of closures, and other plans. Motorists should expect delays when using the Vincent Thomas Bridge and use the Caltrans Quickmap to review current traffic conditions before traveling.
One southbound lane on the Vincent Thomas Bridge — between Ferry Street and Harbor Boulevard — will also be closed overnight beginning Friday, Oct. 10, for road repairs on the bridge finger joints.
