Feeding San Diego and the restaurant Callie partnered last month for the Pairings with a Purpose Dinner Party. The event raised just over $500,000 to support Feeding San Diego’s school pantry program.
The event welcomed 145 guests.
It was the third consecutive year that the event has been held at Callie in the East Village. Restaurant owner and chef Travis Swikard, his wife, Mia, along with the Callie staff presented a three-course meal featuring the restaurant’s popular dishes, such as Aleppo chicken, Mediterranean octopus and handmade gnocchi. Callie’s sommelier, Skye Munroe, selected wine for each course. Elijah Craig created specialty cocktails. Magnolia Kitchen & Bakery provided take-home treats.
The event’s committee included Raquel Rogers, Hilary Loretta, Kacey DeBeer and Mireille Barnard. Troy Johnson, TV host, co-founder of the Del Mar Wine + Food Festival and co-owner/chief creative officer of San Diego Magazine, emceed the evening. Sponsors included Cal-Mil, Signature Aviation, and TrueCare.
