Authorities have identified the man killed Friday night after attending a party in downtown Fresno.

Fresno police chief Mindy Casto identified the victim as Meharie Kidane, 38.

The incident occurred near Fulton and Inyo streets in the Brewery District around 11 p.m. Friday.

Casto said a party was being held at Sun Stereo Warehouse that evening. The event was advertised on social media and sold about 600 tickets, she said.

Authorities say security guards broke up the party after a fight started. The shooting occurred after people poured out onto the street. Kidane was taken to a hospital and died.
