BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A motorcyclist was killed after he was ejected and struck by multiple vehicles in a crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP said the officers were called to Highway 99, north of Ming Avenue at around 9:25 p.m. for a report of a crash.

Investigators said a 39-year-old man driving a Kawasaki motorcycle on northbound Highway 99 to the westbound Highway 58 transition road collided with a 36-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Tahoe who unsafely crossed into the same transition road from the Ming Avenue onramp.

The motorcyclist was ejected and landed in northbound lanes of Highway 99 where he was struck by multiple vehicles. The unidentified motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead the scene.

The motorcyclist will be identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office at a later time.

Alcohol or drug impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash, according to CHP.
