Two people were killed Saturday in a three-vehicle crash in Madera County.

The crash happened at 5:45 p.m. at Highways 41 and 145.

According to preliminary information by California Highway Patrol, a Dodge Challenger with a driver and a passenger was involved in the crash along with two other vehicles.

Both victims in the Challenger sustained fatal injuries at the scene.

Details about the sequence of events leading up to the collision have not yet been confirmed, and investigators are still working to determine the cause.

The identities of the victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin.

It is not yet known whether occupants in the other vehicles were injured.

Officials say more information will be made available as the investigation continues.
