Popular local bakery chain Estelle Bakery & Patisserie is set to expand into a new location, taking over the space at 400 Iron Point Road. It was formerly home to Mariachi Mexican Bar & Grill, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.

The Journal’s report said its design review was approved in October. There is no official opening date.

This will be Estelle’s fourth location. Existing Estelle bakeries are at 2530 Arden Way, in the DOCO center downtown, and at 2710 5th St. in Davis.

Estelle is well known for their laminated pastries like croissants and danish, colorful macarons and elegant cakes. It also serves breakfast and lunch, featuring French specialties such as quiche and open-face tartine sandwiches.

Owner Esther Som opened the first Estelle on K Street in downtown in 2011, but that location closed in 2016. She relaunched the business with the Arden Way location in 2018.

Son was not available to comment on the upcoming opening.
