THAT FIRE CAUSED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE FIRST FLOOR. NO ONE WAS HURT, THANKFULLY, BUT OVER THE PAST YEAR, THE SHOP HAS BEEN GOING THROUGH A RENOVATION AND THAT WORK IS JUST ABOUT DONE. AND EVANGELINE’S COSTUME MANSION WILL REOPEN THIS SUMMER. PEOPLE NEED LOTS OF ITEMS FROM OUR STORE. THEY OR THEY JUST LIKE SHOPPING. THEY JUST LIKE BEING IN HERE, WHICH WE LIKE IT TO. Evangeline’s Costume Mansion, a landmark business in Old Sacramento, is preparing to reopen this summer after a fire last year caused significant damage to its first floor.

No one was hurt in the the fire last summer. Over the past year, the shop has undergone renovations, which are nearing completion, and Evangeline’s Costume Mansion will reopen the weekend of June 27 and 28.

“People need lots of items from our store, or they just like shopping. They just like being here, which we like it too,” Evangeline’s owner Deborah Chausse said.
