A pedestrian was hit and killed by an SUV near the intersection of 4th Street and Ximeno Avenue in Long Beach Tuesday.

The Long Beach Police Department responded to the crash at 12:57 p.m. and found firefighters with the Long Beach Fire Department trying to revive a woman in the roadway. The woman received emergency medical care, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a 2003 Toyota 4Runner was traveling eastbound on 4th Street when she made a left turn onto Ximeno Avenue and struck the pedestrian in a marked crosswalk,” Long Beach PD said.
