Police tape at crime scene

Sacramento County sheriff’s homicide detectives were investigating the deaths of two people who were shot Tuesday at a mobile home park in Orangevale.

The shooting was reported about noon Tuesday at the Sunshine Mobile Village in the 6100 block of Main Avenue near Greenback Lane.

Sgt. Ed Igoe, a Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, said numerous people called authorities to report one person had been shot. It was later reported that another person had been shot.

As deputies arrived at the mobile home park, callers reported that the suspect in the shooting lived in the mobile home park and had returned to his trailer, Igoe said.

Deputies approached the trailer and tried to find the shooting victims. An armored vehicle from the Folsom Police Department arrived at the mobile home park and approached the trailer.

Deputies and Folsom police officers, using the armored vehicle as cover, pulled out the two shooting victims.

Igoe said one of the victims, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim, a man, was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he died.

Authorities took the suspect, a man, into custody without further incident, Igoe said. Homicide detectives took over the investigation and remained at the mobile home park, along with sheriff’s crime scene investigators.

Authorities did not release additional details about the victims, the suspect or a possible motive.
