Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club is in a battle with the Los Angeles Golf Club in the 2026 TGL Finals for the SoFi Cup, and incredibly, the 15-time major champion is planning ot be part of the fun.

Woods inserted himself into the lineup, replacing Kevin Kisner, a four-time Tour winner who currently serves as an NBC Sports commentator. Max Homa and Tom Kim will join him. Akshay Bhatia, who has served as an alternate for the team, is unavailable because he’s competing in India on the DP World Tour this week.

ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt may have put the news of Tiger’s return best: “Tomorrow, Tiger Woods isn’t just cheering the boys on,” he posted on social media, “he’s playing. Giddy up.”

The first match in the best-of-three series was on Monday with LAGC winning two points on the final hole to claim the match. Match 2 and the “if necessary” Match 3 are on Tuesday, March 24.

LAGC wins three points on the 10th hole, with Justin Rose having his eagle putt conceded after double hammers, and LAGC is the winner of the SoFi Cup, knocking off Jupiter Links 9-2 in 10 holes. Three straight eagles to end the match for LAGC.

Los Angeles takes commanding lead

Heading into singles, it’s all Los Angeles. Sahith Theegala makes an eagle putt to win two points after Jupiter Links tossed the hammer, and LA can clinch the SoFi Cup with a strong finish the last six holes. LA leads 6-2.

Jupiter Links takes early lead

Jupiter Links gets on the board first after Sahith Theegala lips out a birdie putt on the par-5 second hole. Max Homa nearly chipped in for eagle the shot before, but it’s a 1-0 lead for Jupiter Links.

Big Cat had a birdie putt to win the hole for Jupiter Links but leaves it a hair short. Then Justin Rose knocks in a par putt to tie the first hole. We’re officially underway at the SoFi Center.

What happened on Monday in the first match?

When Kevin Kisner’s chip from just off the green missed left, LAGC claimed two points and snatched the Match 1 win, 6-5 over Jupiter.

How much money is up for grabs in the TGL?

The winning team will split a $9 million first-place prize. That breaks down to $2.25 million per player. The second-place team will share $4.5 million, third gets $2.25 million, fourth is good for $2 million, fifth splits $1.75 million and last place shares $1.5 million.

Who’s playing in the 2026 TGL Finals?

Tiger has been in attendance all season for his Jupiter Links team and now he’s in the lineup. On Tuesday, he’ll play alongside Max Homa and Tom Kim while LAGC will play Tommy Fleetwood, Sahith Theegala and Justin Rose.
