Sacramento deputies arrested 58-year-old John Clarke in a double homicide at Sunshine Mobile Village. Two adults died, and an investigation is ongoing.
ORANGEVALE, Calif. — Sacramento County deputies have arrested a man in connection with a double homicide at the Sunshine Mobile Village on Main Avenue.
Authorities identified the suspect as 58-year-old John Clarke, who was taken into custody without incident outside his trailer. Clarke has been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on two counts of murder and is ineligible for bail.
The incident occurred on Tuesday around noon, when North Patrol deputies were dispatched to the mobile home park at 6132 Main Avenue following multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire. Callers informed authorities that the suspect lived at the location and had returned to his trailer.
Deputies, assisted by a BearCat armored vehicle from the Folsom Police Department, were able to approach Clarke’s trailer and remove two victims.Â
An adult female was pronounced dead at the scene, while an adult male was taken to a local hospital and later died from his injuries.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the victims’ names once next of kin have been notified.
Authorities have not released a motive for the shootings. The investigation remains ongoing.
