Gather with local chefs, maritime enthusiasts and environmental advocates from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 3 at Sausalito Community Boating Center’s 13th annual Herring Festival fundraiser. This year’s “Grateful Bay”-themed dinner honors the legacy of Mill Valley resident and founding Grateful Dead member Bobby Weir, who died earlier this year, with photos, memories, quotes and live Dead tunes from the Tamaloha Band.

Savor small plates of ocean-focused, sustainably minded cuisine from Bar Bocce, Barrel House Tavern, Davey Jones Deli, Copita Tequileria y Comida, California Caviar Co. and Liquid Events, with cocktails from Sausalito Liquor Co., brews from Fort Point Beer Co., wine and nonalcoholic options. Community partner Angelino Restaurant also participated, hosting a weeklong “small fish” fundraiser earlier this month.

Proceeds from the event and direct donations support the Sausalito Community Boating Center, a nonprofit helping to expand access to the waterfront, sustain education programs for youth and adults, and preserve maritime heritage and environmental initiatives.

The event takes place at the Sausalito Portuguese Cultural Center’s IDESST Hall at 511 Caledonia St. in Sausalito.
