Four people, including a four-year-old child, were injured in a shooting on Wednesday evening, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Police said officers responded to reports of a shooting just after 6 p.m. in the 3300 block of 9th Avenue in the Oak Park neighborhood.
Officials say all victims were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.
Investigators now say the shooting happened along 9th Avenue between 33rd and may have been a drive-by shooting.
Police say at least one of the victims was inside a home when a bullet was fired into the residence, striking them.
Sacramento Police Officer Anthony Gamble says three of the victims appear to know each other, while the fourth, the person inside the home, does not appear to be connected.
Officers spent hours at the scene collecting shell casings and searching for surveillance video as they work to identify a suspect.
Police have not released any suspect information and say no arrests have been made.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything to come forward, saying even small details could be critical to the case.
