SAN DIEGO — A child was struck by a car and seriously injured in a hit-and-run Saturday night in the Colina Del Sol neighborhood, San Diego Police say.
Just after 6:50 p.m. a driver of a two-door Honda hit a child around 7 to 8 years old and fled the scene. When San Diego Police arrived, they found the injured child in the road.
Officers performed CPR before the child was taken to the hospital. According to San Diego Police, the child is alive but in critical condition.
Police are searching for a suspect driving a gray or champagne colored two-door Honda. No description was available for the driver of the vehicle.
California Highway Patrol issued a road closure around 7:45 p.m. between 54th and 58th Streets on University Avenue as police continue their investigation. Expect the road to be closed for at least two hours.
