Prime Pizza opened in 2014 on Fairfax and now — more than a decade later — has 10 locations spread across Los Angeles and Orange County, with six more impending openings that will reach the Inland Empire. It’s not hard to understand the rapid growth of this Southern California pizza empire; the pies at Prime have chewy crusts and generous toppings that can compete with any New York slice. Its cool factor has been amplified by hip-hop playing at each location and a recent pizza and merchandise collaboration with rapper Earl Sweatshirt. Prime was also an active fundraiser in the aftermath of the Eaton fire (owner Zak Fishman lost his home in the blaze, though the Altadena Prime survived), rallying even more community support.

The very herbaceous house ranch sells by the bottle for $7 versus $1.50 for a small cup. Get the bottle; it can be put to use for slices, wings, and garlic knots.
