Police are searching for a suspect after a man was shot to death in Long Beach.
On Oct. 23, police responded to a shooting near the 5300 block of Cherry Avenue at around 9:45 p.m.
Officers found the victim, identified only as an adult male, with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Paramedics transported him to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
The shooter had fled the scene before police arrived.
Further details, including a possible motive or the circumstances leading up to the deadly shooting, were not released. No suspect description was provided as the incident remains under investigation.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin by the L.A. County Department of the Medical Examiner.
