SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento police are investigating a CHP-involved shooting that left a man dead early Friday morning.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the incident happened just after midnight, around 12:03 a.m., after officers were notified by the California Highway Patrol that a CHP officer had been involved in a shooting.
Sacramento police responded to the scene, where the suspect, described as an adult male, was pronounced dead. Authorities have not released the man’s identity.
The department’s homicide unit is leading the investigation. Officials said the scene spans a stretch between Erickson Street and Boxwood Street.
No further information has been released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
