The Sacramento County Coroner identified Henry Giles, 63, as one of the two people killed in a shooting at an Orangevale mobile home park.

ORANGEVALE, Calif. — A man who died following a shooting at an Orangevale mobile home park has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner.

According to the coroner’s office, Henry Giles, 63, of Orangevale, died as a result of a homicide in the Tuesday shooting.

The incident happened around noon at Sunshine Mobile Village along the 6100 block of Main Avenue, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded after multiple callers reported a shooting. Additional calls indicated a second person had been shot.

As deputies arrived, they were told the suspect lived there and had returned to his trailer. Because the suspect’s exact whereabouts were unclear and authorities believed he could still be armed, deputies requested assistance from Folsom police, including an armored BearCat vehicle.

Using the armored vehicle for protection, deputies and officers were able to reach the trailer and remove both victims. A woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Giles was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Authorities identified the suspect as 58-year-old John Clarke, who was taken into custody without incident outside his trailer. Authorities have not released additional details about a possible motive.

The investigation remains ongoing.
