BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — At least one person sustained severe injuries after a semi-truck went down an embankment Friday morning on Highway 58. One westbound lane near General Beale Road is closed.
The CHP’s website said on March 27, 2026, at around 2:29 a.m., there was a report of a crash involving a semi-truck on westbound Highway 58 near General Beale Road.
The website said the semi-truck went about 100 feet down an embankment.
At least one person suffered major injuries.
The number two westbound Highway 58 lane is closed.
CHP Bakersfield said the lane is estimated to reopen between 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
