LA JOLLA, Calif. — UC San Diego (5-12) was defeated by Rice (11-5) with a final score of 0-4 on Friday at Northview Tennis Courts. The Tritons dropped both completed doubles matches and were unable to secure a singles win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego faced a challenging doubles round, dropping the point to the Owls. Olivia Allegre and Julia Visaya were defeated 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. Carling Allaye-Chan and Hana Gamracy faced a tough match at No. 3 doubles, ending at 6-0. The match at No. 2 with Alisa Lansky and Allison Lian was unfinished with a score of 4-3.
 
In singles play, Allegre competed at No. 1, concluding with a 6-1, 6-3 result. Lansky played at No. 2 singles, finishing 7-5, 6-1. At No. 5 singles, Lian’s match ended with a scoreline of 6-1, 6-1.
 
Several singles matches remained unfinished. Allaye-Chan was in progress at No. 3 singles, with scores of 6-4, 4-5. Gamracy’s match at No. 4 singles ended with scores of 6-3, 0-6. Visaya’s contest at No. 6 singles was also incomplete, standing at 2-6, 5-4.
