DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis men’s tennis (9-8) picked up its second win of the week with a 7-0 sweep of UC San Diego (8-11) on Friday at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. The Aggies secured the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 before sweeping all six singles matches to complete the shutout.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Aggies secured the doubles point with victories on two courts. Ivan Savkin and Dylan Paterson delivered a decisive 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. On court No. 2, Kurt Miller and Lucas Bollinger edged out a 7-5 victory. The match on No. 3 doubles with Kaveh Taheri and Perry DiGiulio was unfinished at 5-5.

In singles play, UC Davis swept all six matches. Bollinger came out on top at No. 1 singles with a 7-6, 7-6 result. Taheri earned a win at No. 2 singles, closing his match 7-6, 6-0. DiGiulio secured a straight-set win at No. 3 singles, finishing 7-5, 6-4.

Savkin triumphed at No. 4 singles with a 6-3, 7-5 scoreline. Nadaul Cheam battled through a three-set challenge at No. 5 singles, posting a 6-3, 3-6, 10-1 victory. Eduardo Gonzalez wrapped up the sweep at No. 6 singles, winning 6-2, 6-4.
