San Francisco Supervisor Jackie Fielder is in the hospital and says she will resign her position on the Board of Supervisors, according to multiple reports.

“Jackie Fielder is going through an acute personal health crisis right now and we are not at liberty to share details, but we appreciate the support people have given us and are proud of her for taking care of herself,” Jennifer Ferrigno, a legislative aide, said in a statement.

Fielder was elected in November 2024 after six rounds of ranked choice voting to replace Hillary Ronen, who was termed out after eight years in office.

Mayor Daniel Lurie said he was sending Fielder “best wishes for a speedy recovery.”

“She is a dedicated advocate for her community,” Lurie said on social media. “I am encouraging everyone to give her the time and space to get better so she can do that work fully, and I’m wishing her strength and all the best for her health.”

Fielder, who has not attended a public meeting in two weeks, has told several people that she will resign, according to the SF Standard, which first reported the news.

Fielder has represented District 9, which includes the Mission District, Bernal Heights, and Portola, since January 2025.

There was no word on Fielder’s medical condition.
