BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Hundreds of community members gathered to celebrate Renegade pride Saturday in northeast Bakersfield.
Oct. 11 was an opportunity for alumni, students, and supporters to come together in honor of homecoming week.
Harris BBQ provided good food, while visitors enjoyed a beer garden and a parade.
“Almost every family in Bakersfield has in some way been touched by Bakersfield College. So, this is the time for people who share that history to come up and reminisce, take a look at campus and all the great new buildings. State of the art facilities that have gone up in the past several years and just be a support and give back to the college that has given so much to the community,” said Cheryl Scott, Executive Director of the Bakersfield College Foundation.
Bakersfield College was founded in 1913 and relocated to the current campus on Panorama Drive in 1956.
