LOS ANGELES, CA — Emman Atienza, a TikTok and social media influencer known for her lifestyle videos, died this week of an apparent suicide. She was 19.
Atienza’s family confirmed her death in a post on Instagram.
“She brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our lives and into the lives of everyone who knew her,” her family wrote on Instagram. “Emman had a way of making people feel seen and heard, and she wasn’t afraid to share her own journey with mental health. Her authenticity helped so many feel less alone.”
The photogenic Atienza amassed more than 800,000 followers on TikTok and over 225,000 on Instagram, according to TMZ, which reported that she died at her Los Angeles home. She was the daughter of Filipino television presenter Alejandro “Kim” Ilagan Atienza, and his celebrity and wellness entrepreneur wife Felicia Hung Atienza, KTLA reported.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office listed the cause of death as ligature/hanging and the location as a residence.
Atienza’s family said they hoped her followers would honor her memory by carrying forward the qualities she lived by.
“Compassion, courage, and a little extra kindness in your everyday life,” they wrote.
