The Raley’s Cos. announced Friday that CEO Keith Knopf will step down, and the role will be taken over once again by owner and former CEO Mike Teel.

Knopf was appointed chief operating officer in 2015, after positions with Kohl’s and May Co. department stores. He was appointed president in 2017, and CEO in 2018.

“After 11 fulfilling years of service, I have reached a natural inflection point, and having achieved significant milestones, chosen at this point in time to step away,” Knopf said in a statement Friday.

The changes will take effect April 3, marking the beginning of Teel’s third stint as CEO of Raley’s.

Teel is the grandson of Raley’s founder Tom Raley, and was hired at the grocery chain in 1976, after college. He was appointed COO in 1995, president in 1996 and CEO in 1998. He left the company in 2002, but returned in 2010 to become a majority owner, president and CEO.

The company simultaneously announced two other executive changes.

Tiffanie Burkhalter, who has served as chief financial officer since 2023, also took on the title of president, the company said. Jen Warner, the chief growth and transformation officer, was appointed president and chief operations officer.

Burkhalter and Warner’s new roles are also effective April 3.
