Forward Alex Pfeiffer had a goal and assist as Bay FC scored all of its goals in the first half during a 3-1 victory over the North Carolina Courage in Cary, N.C. on Saturday night.

The win was Bay FC’s first on the road in nearly a year.

Pfeiffer opened the scoring in the 20th minute on a left-footed shot past Courage goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan for Bay FC (2-0-1), whose last road win was also in North Carolina.

“Obviously delighted with the three points today,” said Bay FC coach Emma Coates. “Particularly the manner of the performance in the first half and the resilience we showed at the end of the game. Just a really pleasing three points and still lots for us to work on and build on.”

Bay beat North Carolina 1-0 last April 19, which turned out to be its only road win during the 2025 season.

Keira Barry, making her first NWSL start, scored her first NWSL goal to double the lead 2-0 in the 30th minute. Dorian Bailey headed home the third goal in the 34th minute, with an assist from Pfeiffer.

North Carolina (1-1-1) got its lone goal in the 65th minute when Manaka Matsukubo took a feed from Ryan Williams and left-footed a shot from the center of the box to score in the 65th minute.

Play paused shortly after the opening kickoff as defender Joelle Anderson went down following a collision with a teammate on the pitch. The San Jose native was replaced by Brooklyn Courtnall at the 10-minute mark before play resumed. Following the game, the team confirmed Anderson’s injury would be evaluated through the week and was not concussion related.

Bay FC returns home to host the Washington Spirit and Trinity Rodman on Sunday, April 5 at 2 p.m. at PayPal Park.
