FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A man was arrested for violating a restraining order and crashing a van into the home on Sunday, police say.
Police responded to a call of a restraining order violation at a home in the area of Corona and San Jose Avenue, a bit before 9:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, the man got into a car and crashed it into the home while people were still inside.
Police say the man then armed himself with a knife and was making threats that could hurt him.
Negotiations with the police lasted about two hours before he surrendered.
However, as police officers tried to take him into custody, he wounded himself with the knife.
He was taken to CRMC for his injuries.
There were no reports of anyone else being injured.
Police say the man was arrested for charges of felony vandalism and domestic violence.
