A suspected DUI crash claimed a man’s life on Saturday.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash at 5:10 p.m. at Kearney Ave., west of Dickenson Ave.
CHP said a Chevrolet Malibu traveling west on Kearney at a high rate of speed veered south and left the road.
The front-right of the vehicle crashed into a palm tree on the south shoulder.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP said alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
