WonderCon returned to the Anaheim Convention Center this weekend, bringing one of the West Coast’s largest celebrations of comics, movies, television, gaming and cosplay to Southern California.

Produced by Comic-Con International, the three-day convention runs March 27–29 and draws thousands of fans, creators and industry professionals for panels, exhibits and immersive fan experiences.

KTLA’s Erin Myers was on-site Sunday morning, dressed as Arwen from The Lord of the Rings, highlighting the elaborate cosplay that has become a hallmark of the event.

“You’re going to see a lot of amazing cosplay here at WonderCon,” Myers said. “People put so much time into their outfits.”

Event organizers say the convention features more than 900 exhibitors and nearly 500 artists in Artist Alley, showcasing independent creators and original artwork. Attendees can also participate in portfolio reviews, attend panels and meet industry veterans, including longtime Disney and Pixar animator Floyd Norman.

Organizers describe WonderCon as a more relaxed alternative to San Diego’s Comic-Con, while still offering extensive programming and opportunities for fans interested in breaking into comics, film, television and animation.

Doors opened Sunday at 10 a.m., with programming continuing throughout the day, including autograph sessions, panel discussions and opportunities for fans to showcase their costumes.
