FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — A reckless driving report on Interstate 5 in western Fresno County ended in a rollover crash Thursday afternoon that killed a passenger and left the driver with serious injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP responded just after 2 p.m. on Friday, after receiving a call about a reckless driver traveling southbound on I-5 at Shields Avenue.
A records check of the license plate number provided by the reporting party showed the vehicle, a white Toyota Corolla, was associated with a previously reported stolen vehicle from Las Vegas.
Officers located the vehicle and tried to pull the car over, but the driver continued to drive recklessly, lost control, and overturned on the shoulder of southbound I-5 south of Derrick Avenue, the CHP said.
