FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — An investigation is underway after police say a security guard was stabbed in northeast Fresno.

It happened at the Golden 1 Credit Union location on Shaw and Effie just after 1:30 pm Monday.

Officers say the guard was trying to break up an argument between a woman and her sons when the stabbing happened.

Police say he was stabbed in the back with a pocket knife.

The man is expected to be okay, but will be taken to Community Regional Medical Center as a precaution.
