SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Light Play Studio is a limited-time tinkering experience where families can discover the magic of light, color, and perception.
Luigi Anzivino, Senior Manager of Tinkering, Exploratorium, describes it as visitors, friends, and family making it become “a moment of community building, through the power of iterating ideas.”
“Light Play Studio is an exhibition our Tinkering Studio Team has been hard at work on and it’s also taking a lot of those ideas that are in the gallery about light and seeing and shadow, and creating a bunch of different activities that you can engage with,” says Ann Meisinger, Program Director of Artists-in-Residence, Exploratorium.
The exhibition is at the Exploratorium for a limited time through April 19, 2026. “The series of exhibits let people explore different objects in new ways and compose with shadows, light and color,” says Jessica Strick, Exhibit Developer Group Manager, Exploratorium.
Michael Wong, Project Director, Exploratorium, shares that “it’s been an amazing opportunity for the Tinkering Studio Team to work with teams across the museum to bring this exploration of light and shadow and storytelling.” There are five new experiences going out on the floor for Light Play Studio and much more new content this spring.
