Two people were killed and at least two others are in critical condition Tuesday after a multi-vehicle, high-speed collision in Anaheim.
Anaheim Police Department officers responded to the intersection of Anaheim Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday when an officer saw a silver Infiniti speeding near Harbor Boulevard and Cypress Street. The driver turned off their lights and the officer did not pursue the Infiniti as it sped away, Sgt. Matt Sutter told City News Service.
The Infiniti ran a red light at Anaheim and Lincoln and crashed into three vehicles, leaving a trail of debris and a congested intersection, according to police. Two people, a passenger in the Infiniti and the driver of a red sedan, were pronounced dead at the scene, Sutter said. At least two others were in critical condition and several others were taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Video footage from the scene shows all the vehicles sustained significant damage.
The intersection of Anaheim and Lincoln will be closed for several hours during the police investigation, Sutter added.
