A West Bloomfield man who allegedly fired a gun into his neighbor’s home waived his right to a district court preliminary exam scheduled for Tuesday, resulting in the case being bound over to Oakland County Circuit Court for possible trial.
Marquis Greg-Lamar Fletcher, 50, is accused of breaking a neighbor’s window in the 7400 block of Coach Lane in West Bloomfield and firing several rounds inside the home, on Nov. 24, 2025. The residence was occupied by four people at the time but no one was hurt, according to Deputy Chief of Police Scott Mong.
Just prior to the shooting, Fletcher’s wife contacted police to report that he was armed and having a mental health crisis, Mong said. The shooting took place as police were en route to the scene.

Fletcher is charged with first-degree home invasion, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, discharging a firearm in or at a building, wearing body armor during the commission of a violent crime, assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, and four counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony. Of the charges, first-degree home invasion carries the stiffest penalty — up to 20 years in prison.
Arraignment is scheduled for April 13 before Judge David Cohen.
Fletcher bonded out of the Oakland County Jail on Feb. 27 and is monitored by electronic tether.
