BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Protesters in Bakersfield over the weekend joined the millions across the country in another national “No Kings” protest.

Dozens of protesters on Saturday marched outside the Kern County courthouse on Truxtun Avenue in Bakersfield.

They came dressed up with signs and a message of opposition to the current stances of the Trump administration.

“So basically, we wanted to come and show our support for the people who can’t be here and stand up for what we believe in. And we’re not going to stay silent. I feel that is complicity with what is going on. And, I like this one because I brought my kids and it feels the safest,” Megan Jones, a protester said.

Also in attendance were members of the Working Families Party and other political groups hoping to gain a foothold in the upcoming midterm elections.

This was the third major “No Kings” protest planned nationwide, with no details yet on if another one will be planned.
