FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno Police Department is at the scene of a stabbing on Monday afternoon in Fresno.

Police responded to the Golden 1 Credit Union at Shaw and Effie Avenues around 1:30 pm. for the report of a disturbance.

The caller said a man armed with a knife was cutting himself.

The call was then updated that a security guard had been stabbed.

They say the security guard tried to intervene in the argument between a mother and her sons when he was stabbed.

The weapon is a pocket knife, so the wound was not serious.

The guard was taken to CRMC for treatment.
