Daytime highs will be mostly in the low to mid 60s on the coast and around the bay, and mid to high 60s inland. Overnight lows will be mostly in the mid 40s to low 50s.

Cooler temperatures and light rain are expected across the region on Wednesday as another round of spring showers moves from the North Bay southward through the Central Coast, forecasters say.

Rain is expected to begin in the North Bay during the morning and gradually spread south by the afternoon and evening. Forecast totals range from about 0.10 to 0.25 inches in valley areas, with 0.25 to 0.75 inches possible in the North Bay mountains and up to 1 inch in the interior ranges.

Meanwhile, the Santa Cruz Mountains could see up to 0.5 inches, while the interior East Bay and South Bay valleys are expected to receive about 0.05 to 0.15 inches. Rainfall totals are also expected to be lighter across Monterey County. Drivers are urged to use caution as roads may become slick.

Breezy conditions are also expected on Wednesday, with southwesterly wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph, and up to 40 mph in higher terrain. Winds are expected to shift west-northwest later Wednesday into early Thursday, according to the NWS.

Cooler-than-normal conditions and light rain are expected to continue into early Thursday morning before a warming trend begins Friday and lasts into the weekend. Offshore winds are forecast to return Friday, with gusts of 40 to 50 mph possible in the interior North Bay mountains, the weather service said.
