Armed man in Sacramento arrested following standoff, sheriff says

A man was arrested following an armed standoff Saturday afternoon in south Sacramento, officials said. Deputies were dispatched to a property on Daylight Court after receiving reports of 32-year-old Duke Van Le holding two handguns and threatening family members inside the residence. Inside the home were Le, a convicted felon, his parents and a 6-year-old niece, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.Deputies quickly established a perimeter and were able to evacuate Le’s parents and niece. Other law enforcement agencies and a Bearcat armed vehicle were on scene, the sheriff’s office said. Before deputies could make announcements to Le over PA loud speakers, he exited the residence and surrendered peacefully. Deputies later executed a search warrant at the home and found two loaded handguns and three bottles of illegal narcotics. One of the guns was unregistered, and the other was reported stolen out of Stockton, the sheriff’s office said. Le was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on multiple firearm and narcotics-related charges, where he remains on $500,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said.
