Officials from Burbank High School confirmed they fell victim to a swatting call Wednesday, forced to evacuate buildings and dismiss all students.
Principal Steven Hubbell shared an update with parents, saying the campus was declared safe.
The school had emailed parents, letting them know that their students would be sent home because of a “possible threat.
“With the assistance of the Burbank Police Department, we were able to confirm that the phone number used to report the earlier threat was a spoofed number and that Burbank High School was the target of a swatting incident,” Hubbell said.
As the investigation into who may be behind the swatting call, school officials asked anyone with information to come forward. Tipsters can use the Burbank Unified School District’s anonymous tip line at 818-729-4585 or tipline@burbankusd.org.
“These tools are available at all times for students, families, and staff to report concerns related to safety, misconduct, or well‑being,” the principal said.
