Northern California forecast: Thursday dries out, temperatures to scale upward

FROM 25 STATES. 619 IS YOUR TIME. LET’S TALK WEATHER NOW WITH OPHELIA. CAN YOU BELIEVE 24 HOURS LATER? YEAH, I MEAN, WE HAD SOME RAIN, WE HAD SOME SNOW. AND THEN MY GOODNESS, AS WE LOOK OUT FROM OUR CAMERAS NOW, THE SKIES ARE BEAUTIFUL. WE DID NOT SEE THE SUNRISE YESTERDAY BECAUSE WE HAD ALL OF THE GLOOMY SKIES IN THE RAIN. BUT TODAY AS WE LOOK OUT, WE CAN’T SEE ONE CLOUD OVER THE VALLEY. BEAUTIFUL COLORS IN OUR SKIES. AND THIS IS 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE SUN OFFICIALLY WAKES UP, WHICH WILL BE RIGHT BEFORE 650 THIS MORNING. AND THE SUN WILL GO DOWN AT 731 AND WILL HOLD ON TO CLEAR SKIES THEN AS WELL. BUT RIGHT NOW WE’RE WATCHING THAT COLDER AIR MOVE IN AND ALSO DRIER AIR. THAT’S THE REASON WHY WE’RE NOT SEEING ANY MOISTURE OR CLOUDS IN OUR SKIES. AND THAT IS BECAUSE OUR FRONTAL BOUNDARY IS MOVED THROUGH. THE WINDS ARE FILLING IN OUT OF THE NORTH AND REALLY DRAGGING IN THAT COLDER AIR. CHECK OUT THIS GRAPHIC. VERY INTERESTING. YUBA CITY SACRAMENTO 12 DEGREES COOLER THAN HOW WE STARTED OFF YESTERDAY MORNING. AUBURN FAIRFIELD 11 DEGREES. BUT THAT DIFFERENCE GETS SMALLER AND SMALLER SOUTH TOWARDS THAT FRONT. STOCKTON MODESTO 1 TO 3 DEGREES COOLER BEYOND MODESTO TEMPERATURES ARE WARMER THAN THIS TIME YESTERDAY, AND THAT IS BECAUSE THOSE AREAS ARE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FRONT AS IT PUSHES SOUTH INTO THE CENTRAL VALLEY. CURRENTLY, TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE 40S IN SACRAMENTO AND YUBA CITY. IT IS COLD STEPPING OUT IN THE SACRAMENTO VALLEY IN THE SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY, STILL IN THE LOW 50S, AUBURN AND PLACERVILLE. CHECK OUT THAT TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE. 39 IN AUBURN, 47 IN PLACERVILLE AND TRUCKEE IN THE MID 30S. CURRENTLY, FEW SHOWERS STILL LINGER IN THE STANISLAUS COUNTY, AND WE ALSO HAVE A FEW SHOWERS THAT ARE MOVING THROUGH THE FOOTHILLS. SONORA. BUT THIS IS IT. THIS IS OUR FINAL LINE OF SHOWERS AND WE’RE EVEN SEEING SNOW ACTIVITY DWINDLE IN THE MOUNTAINS AS THIS COOLER AIR WORKS IN FROM THE NORTH. THAT SAYS OUR STORM SYSTEM MOVES TO OUR NORTHEAST AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE IS UP NEXT, AND THAT WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WINDS THAT FILL IN OUT OF THE NORTH. SO OUR STORMS, WHAT’S LINGERING WILL CONTINUE TO DIMINISH FROM NORTH TO SOUTH. AND THEN AS THE SKIES CONTINUE TO CLEAR AND THAT NORTH WIND MOVES IN, IT’S GOING TO PICK UP A LITTLE BIT THIS AFTERNOON. SO WE’LL NOTICE BREEZES OUT OF THE NORTH ABOUT 10 TO 15MPH. SO RELAX FOR DINNER TIME, BUT RETURN OVERNIGHT AND THERE WILL BE THE STRONGEST ALONG THE NORTHWEST PORTIONS OF THE VALLEY. BUT AFTER THE WINDS CALM DOWN TOMORROW MORNING, LOOKING FORWARD TO A BEAUTIFUL FRIDAY. FRIDAY EVENING IS GOING TO BE GORGEOUS. SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. WARM AGAIN BACK IN THE LOW 80S AND WE EVEN HOLD ON TO 80 FOR THE START OF NEXT WEEK. TUESDAY. HOWEVER, WE’LL NOTICE SOME CHANGES. TEMPERATURES DROP A BIT BACK IN THE 70S, AND THEN WE’RE TRACKING SOME RAIN RETUR
