Huntington Beach Fire Department rescues ducklings storm drain – NBC Los Angeles

Duck, duck, rescue.

The Huntington Beach Fire Department (HBFD) rescued several ducklings that fell into a storm drain this week and the quack-tastic moment was captured on video.

According to the HBFD, crews from HE43 were called to a residential neighborhood to help the baby ducks.

In a video posted on social media, an HBFD official can be seen climbing into a storm drain, cradling the baby ducks in his hands and pulling the little rascals out one by one.

And if he was winging it, the method certainly worked.

“With their mom nearby and clearly distressed, firefighters safely accessed the sewer system and carefully rescued each duckling,” the post read.

Once the ducklings were out of the storm drain, they could be seen waddling on the sidewalk as firefighters used flashlights to illuminate their path.

The HBFD said the babies were reunited with their mother, “who wasted no time getting them moving again.”

We can only imagine the scolding mom gave the group on their walk home.
