BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A K-9 with the Kern County Probation Department celebrated his birthday the best way he knows how — sniffing out crime and keeping the community safe.
On Tuesday, March 31, officers with the Post Release Community Supervision Unit contacted a man on active supervision in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue.
Enzo was involved in the search that led to officers finding 459 grams of suspected methamphetamine, officials said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance to sell, as well as a violation of post-release community supervision, according to investigators.

The next day, Enzo was all smiles as he celebrated his 2nd birthday by playing with his handler at the probation department.
Enzo, who the probation department welcomed in January, is a German Shepherd who weighs about 68.2 pounds. He is trained in apprehension and detection and has over 500 hours of specialized training under his collar.
His partner is Senior Deputy Probation Office A. Barrales.
