A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Sacramento late Thursday night, according to police.

Just before 10:15 p.m., officers with the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 2900 block of Ramona Avenue for a reported vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian suffering from serious injuries. The individual was taken to a nearby hospital, where they are currently in stable condition, police said.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities said impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
