January, February, and March? These months are definitely about new cinema, the freshest flicks and up-to-the-second stories, and the splashy performers who are making “who are they?” headlines.
But when April dawns, at least around Tinseltown and the ornate movies palaces of Southern California?
Decades-old delights are ruling the silver screens, with tried-and-true tales of twisted plots, lovelorn souls, stunt-filled silent capers, upbeat musicals, and the film fare that delighted audiences of earlier era captivating us.
Noir City: Hollywood 2026 is flickering at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood from April 3-5 and 10-12.
Audience members should prepare to “FACE THE MUSIC!” as 20 films roll out, and special appearances, too (both Pat Boone and Elliot Gould will stop by).
“Blues in the Night,” “Love Me or Leave Me,” and “A Man Called Adam” are some of the enticing, adrenaline-raising, lip-biting classics twinkling in this noir-strong galaxy of greats.

The final day of April will also see the launch of another Tinseltown tradition, the TCM Classic Film Festival.
“The World Comes to Hollywood” from April 30 through May 3, with some of the titans of classic filmdom adding shimmer to cinemas on Hollywood Boulevard and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
“Barefoot in the Park,” “Auntie Mame,” and “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” are part of the glorious grouping of great films in 2026, with special events festooning the schedule to add even more moxie. Both Barbara Hershey and Paul Williams will receive the well-deserved honors at the upcoming festival, with Bruce Goldstein, an acclaimed advocate for cinema history, receiving The Robert Osborne Award.
And other vintage movie goodness is afoot this April, too: Los Angeles Conservancy members can purchase tickets to Last Remaining Seats, while tickets for the general public go on sale April 8.
The film series will call upon three Downtown Los Angeles movie palaces in June, with Hitchcock treats and noir favorites in tow.
