The City of Clovis has been named one of the top 100 places to live, ranking 52nd on the list and receiving the spotlight out of over 2,000 cities analyzed in a ranking constructed by Livability, a national website that ranks and profiles U.S. cities based on quality-of-life factors.
The 2026 Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S. ranking highlights the nation’s most vibrant and affordable small to mid-sized cities through eight key categories, spotlighting safety, environment and health categories.
“Clovis is grateful, during this 250th Year of America, to still be a place people want to call home. We embrace that spirit of hard work and value a sincere dedication to community,” said Clovis Mayor Vong Mouanoutoua. “You will love our residents, schools, places of worship, businesses, the celebrations, and well-planned neighborhoods. Clovis is ‘A Way of Life.’”
Livability partnered with data experts with Applied Geographic Solutions in order to analyze nearly 100 data points in cities between 75,000 and 500,000 populations. This range represents cities that offer big-city opportunities while retaining a small-town feel.
“Our ‘Top 100’ is an annual data-driven collection of what we consider to be the best small to mid-size cities,” said Livability.com editor-in-chief Amanda Ellis. “As Americans face consistently evolving work dynamics and a desire for the best quality of life possible amidst inflation and uncertainty, our list celebrates places where people can more realistically build families, launch businesses and lead meaningful lives.”
The 2026 edition of the list noted affordability as a primary driver in the selection process. The rising costs gave additional weight to housing and cost of living categories. Livability said it only included locations with a median home value of under $500,000.
Clovis’ inclusion reinforces its status as a community where paychecks stretch further and quality of life is prioritized.
