(FOX40.COM) — With Easter around the corner, communities across the region are hosting egg hunts, family festivals and church services to celebrate the day.

California Local, Windermere Signature Properties shares a list of events taking place in the Sacramento region.

On Saturday, a floating egg hunt at Sierra Pool in Auburn will take place, where participants can trade collected eggs for prizes and compete to find a “golden egg” for a grand prize.

West Sacramento will also host an “Aqua Egg Adventure” at its Recreation Center pool, featuring water-based egg hunts and prizes.

In North Highlands, a free “Spring Eggstravaganza” at Freedom Park will include crafts, vendors and an accessible egg hunt. At the same time, Davis will host a “Breakfast with the Bunny” event followed by a parade and egg hunt, according to organizers.

Also on Saturday, North Natomas will be celebrating its “Egg-a-Palooza” at the Aquatic Center.

In Land Park, a spring celebration at Fairytale Town geared toward young children, and a community “Easter Eggstravaganza” in Arden Park with activities for all ages.

On Sunday, April 5, the River Fox Train will offer a “Springtime Express” experience through the Yolo countryside, featuring a meal, an onboard egg hunt and visits from the Easter Bunny, organizers said.

Pet owners can also take part in the festivities. A dog-friendly Easter egg hunt is scheduled for Saturday in Midtown Sacramento, where participants can search for treat-filled eggs and prizes, according to organizers.

Seasonal photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny are also being offered at several area shopping centers, including Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights, Westfield Galleria in Roseville and Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento throughout the weekend.

On Saturday, a community Easter egg hunt will take place at Hallwood Community Church, 2825 State Highway 20 in Marysville, beginning at 10 a.m.

The Yuba Foothills Agricultural Communities Association will host its annual Easter egg hunt from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Alcouffe Center, 9185 Marysville Road in Oregon House. Hunts will be organized by age group.
